Magpale Flies to Indonesia to Attend 15th EATOF
Cebu Vice Governor Agnes Magpale on Wednesday flew to Yogyakarta in Indonesia to represent Cebu in the 15th East Asia Inter-Regional Tourism Forum (EATOF).
The event is an annual gathering of all EATOF members and seeks to discuss further cooperation in the area of tourism.
This year’s forum will tackle how to manage sustainable tourism through the empowerment of local communities.
EATOF has 10 member-provinces.
Aside from Cebu, the other members are Yogyakarta, Gangwon in Korea, Jilin in China, Luang Prabang in Laos, Quang Ninh in Vietnam, Sarawak in Malaysia, Siem Reap in Cambodia, Tottori in Japan and Tuv in Mongolia.
Magpale, who is accompanied by PB Member Yolanda Daan, will be in Indonesia until Oct. 24.
She has designated Cebu Provincial Board (PB) Member Jerome Librando as the acting vice governor.
But Librando will also be designating Cebu PB Member Edsel Galeos as the acting vice governor since he will be flying to Sri Lanka on Oct. 24 to attend the 20th Inter-Island Tourism Policy (ITOP) Forum 2016 in Galle.
