DSWD-7 Send Food Packs to Region 2
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-7) will send 2,400 family food packs to Cauayan City, Isabela in response to the need for augmentation support to the families affected by Typhoon Lawin in Region 2.
According to DSWD-7 Regional Director Ma. Evelyn Macapobre, their office has coordinated with the Philippine Air Force at the Mactan-Benito Ebuen Airbase for the logistical support in the delivery of the 2,400 food packs.
“We have to hasten the delivery of food packs because people need it badly. We have assigned four DSWD staff to escort the goods to be delivered via C-130 early morning tomorrow, October 21,” said Macapobre.
The food packs will come from the Visayas Disaster Response Center that houses the Mechanized Production System (MPS).
MPS streamlines the production of family food packs – quicker production, less manpower, and easier to handle and store packaging.
Macapobre also assured that DSWD-7 will continue to send relief supplies when needed. (jsme/PIA7-Cebu/ with reports from DSWD-7)
