Mega Drug Rehab to Unlock Next Month
Department of Interior and Local Government on Monday confirmed that the Mega Drug rehabilitation center in Nueva Ecija is set to open next month.
This is after DILG Regional 3 Director Florida Dijan said that President Rodrigo Duterte himself would be the guest of honor of its grand inauguration at Palayan City, Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija on Nov. 15, 2016.
He said that right after the launching, the mega rehabilitation facility would be open for accommodations of some 10,000 drug surrenderers in the region.
“Sa ngayon ay malapit nang makumpleto ang wing 1 na mayroong anim na units o gusali at tig-dalawang palapag,” he said.
The initial space for the wing 1 of the building can accommodate 1,100 drug dependents and targeted to double by the end of the year.
The DILG official also said that the construction of the facility was strictly pre-casted and headed by Chinese contractors.
The facility’s framework is firmly planned and secured since its five kilometers distance from the main gate.
He also shared that DILG is still conducting simultaneous inter-agency meetings for operations and other necessary plotting of the system’s construction.
The targeted personnel to operate the rehab center is 250 including doctor or psychologist, nurse, social welfare officers, technical, administrative personnel, etc.
With its Php23-million donation, D.M. Consunji, Inc. (DMCI) became one of the facility’s benefactors. (PNA) RMA/AMD/EDS
