Davide Authorized to Hire PHP57-M Consultant for PHP775-M Building
CEBU CITY, Sept. 20 (PNA) — Cebu’s provincial board has approved a resolution authorizing Governor Hilario Davide III to hire AS Enriquez Engineering Consultancy for PHP57 million for the feasibility study, detailed architectural and engineering design and supervision of the construction of a PHP775-million Cebu Capitol tower.
Davide earlier said the construction of the building will be implemented through a private-public partnership (PPP) scheme.
Cebu provincial board members Edsel Galeos, who is an engineer, and Raul Bacaltos, who is a lawyer, found their concerns all incorporated in the contract.
Their corresponding markings on provisions they are concerned about will be signed.
Galeos, who has been a contractor for 27 years, said payment will only be made for accomplished phases of the contract.
The proposed Capitol tower, which will take the place of the condemned Baex building, will have 1,792 square meters per floor.
Multiplied by 12 floors, that means the building will have a total floor area of 21,504 sq.m.
The provincial government expects to spend PHP36,000 for every square meter, or a total of PHP774.144 million for the 12-story building. (PNA) CVL/EB/EDS
