DSWD-7 Released More Than 123.9M for E-AICS
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Central Visayas has already released a total amount of Php 123,908,106.58 million through its Expanded-Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (E-AICS).
From January to August 15, 2016, the Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU) and the Social Welfare and Development Offices (SWADs) in the provinces of Bohol, Cebu and Siquijor were able to provide assistance to a total of 24,185 individuals who sought financial help for their respective emergency concerns.
Under the E-AICS, the DSWD provides medical, educational, burial, transportation as well as non-food assistance to persons or families in crisis situations, particularly those who belong to the informal sector and other poor, marginalized, vulnerable, and disadvantaged individuals.
“As a state social welfare agency, we continuously help those who are in dire need of assistance. We do whatever we can to best serve our clients by making the process faster and easier for them,” said Regional Director Ma. Evelyn Macapobre.
Macapobre underscored further that the financial assistance can be claimed within the day if it is below Php 5,000.00 and the assistance in check form can be processed up to three days.
“We also encourage our clients to comply all the necessary documents before going to CIU or SWAD office or better yet, call our office for further inquiry,” added Macapobre.
Requirements
For the medical assistance;
– Clinical abstract/Medical certificate with the full name, signature and license number of the attending doctor (given within 3 months period)
– Hospital bill or receipt for medicines or laboratory requests for laboratory examinations
– Barangay Certificate of Residency or Indigency or any of the client’s valid id
– Referral letter (optional)
For educational assistance;
– Enrollment Assessment Form or Certificate of Enrollment or Registration
– School ID of the student (if already enrolled)
– Barangay Certificate of Residency or Indigency or any of the client’s valid id
– Referral letter (optional)
For transportation assistance;
– Barangay Certificate of Residency or Indigency or any of the client’s valid id
– Police blotter (for victims of pick pockets, illegal recruitment etc.)
For burial assistance;
– Funeral contract
– Death certificate
– Barangay Certificate of Residency or Indigency or any of the client’s valid id
– Permit to transfer or Health permit (to be buried in another town or province)
Non-food assistance refers to the cash amount in food subsidy given to clients from the provinces who serve as the watchers and aides of patients in the hospital.
