No Cancellation of Travel Bookings to Davao City — Tour Operator
Davao City — Despite travel advisories prompted by Friday’s explosion at the night market along Roxas Avenue here, bookings for travel to Davao City keep coming in and there is no cancellation of early bookings, too, this was disclosed by tour operator Marilou Ampuan, owner of Bloomers Travel and Tours.
Ampuan said they have already bookings for three big groups: one composed of 8; second 12 and the third group is composed of 16.
The visit of the groups will take place next week where the tour consisted of a day tour, the island tour and visit to the highland destination.
The day tour will be around the city’s must visit destinations to include a stop at the Pasalubong Center, People’s Park, Museo Dabawenyo, Aldevinco Shopping Center, Central 911 plus the “Duterte Tour” — a photo opportunity at the President’s residence and the other landmarks.
“We haven’t got any cancellation and travel booking is business as usual,” she said.
Earlier, Department of Tourism (DoT) Secretary Wanda Tulfo-Teo assured tourists the city remains a safe place for visitors and residents alike.
“The quick and professional response and action of our police, armed forces and security group show that Davao is well-prepared for contingencies, including isolated attack like this bombing incident,” said Teo.
She said, “we are united with the President in his pursuit of peace in Mindanao and throughout the country as he (President) is making inroads in his campaign against lawlessness and terrorism. (PNA) FPV/LCM/DIGNA D. BANZON/LDP
