Traffic Enforcer Shot Dead in Consolacion
A traffic enforcer was shot dead by two unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants Thursday morning as he rode to work near the municipal hall in Consolacion town in northern Cebu.
Police investigators identified the slain traffic enforcers as Antonio Gutierrez, 42, a resident of barangay Polog, Consolacion town.
PO1 Cresenciano Saladaga, desk officer of the Consolacion town police station, said Gutierrez was riding on a motorcycle on his way to work.
Two men wearing ski masks and riding in tandem on board a motorcycle followed him and shot him several times while he was across the town’s municipal hall in Barangay South Poblacion.
The victim was taken to the Eversley Child’s Sanitarium and General Hospital in Jagobiao, Mandaue City, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
Saladaga said responding policemen recovered eight shells and four deformed slugs of still undetermined firearm from the crime scene. (PNA) RMA/EB/EDS
