PAGASA: Enhanced Monsoon Rains to Prevail in PHL Monday
The country will continue to experience moderate to occasionally heavy rains Monday due to the enhanced southwest monsoon, state weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
In its 5:00 a.m. advisory, PAGASA said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms is expected over the rest of Luzon and Visayas.
Monsoon rains will shower Metro Manila, the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera, the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, and Mindoro.
Occasional rains will prevail over western Visayas, the rest of central Luzon, the provinces of Laguna, Quezon, Rizal and Palawan.
PAGASA has warned of possible flashfloods in low-lying areas and and landslides. The onslaught of monsoon rains began Aug. 8.
Meanwhile, the state weather bureau has issued a gale warning in the western seaboard of central and southern Luzon as coastal waters will be moderate to rough. (PNA) BNB/JMC
