‘Carina’ Continues to Head Northwest, Rainy Weather Seen on Monday
The whole country may experience rainshowers on Monday as severe tropical storm “Carina” continues to move towards northwest direction at 20 kph.
As of 4:00 a.m. Monday, ‘Carina’ was last eyed at 145 km north northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
It has a maximum sustained winds of 105 kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 135 kph.
Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) No. 2 remains hoisted in the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Abra and the northern part of Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands.
TCWS No. 1 is raised in Ilocos Sur, Batanes Group of Islands, rest of Cagayan, Isabela, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Benguet, Ifugao, La Union and Pangasinan.
In an advisory, state weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said stormy weather with rough to very rough seas will prevail in areas under TCWS No. 2.
Meanwhile, rains with gusty winds may be expected in areas under TCWS No. 1.
Central Luzon and rest of northern Luzon may experience cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms.
PAGASA said Metro Manila, western Visayas and Zamboanga Peninsula may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
