Philippines-Japan Friendship Month Activities Set in Cebu

In line with the Philippines and Japan Friendship month celebration this year, various activities are lined up in this Queen City of the South.

The Japanese Summer Fiesta dubbed as “Bon Odori” is set on August 12-13 Friday and Saturday in the Sugbu Grounds of the city’s South Road Properties (SRP). Bon Odori in Cebu is now on its third year but already celebrated in Japan several years ago.

During the 2-day event, various gimmickries and fun-filled activities will be conducted such as Sinulog Dance, Cosplay and Karaoke Contests, Lotteries and Fire Works Display, among several others for everyone to chill and enjoy. Sponsorship and booths are also open to interested parties just email to info@ja-cebu.com or (see details in the photo).

The event will be ticketed and pegged at P20.00 each as Entrance Fee per person. Gates will open at 5PM on the first day and 3PM on the second day. There will be free shuttle buses from SM City Cebu, Plaza Independencia and SM Seaside City to and from the SRP.

Meanwhile, in line with the celebration, the Eigasai 2016 a Japanese Film Festival will offer free screening for their films on August 17-21, 2016 in Ayala Center Cebu Cinema in Cebu City.
The titles of the Films and the schedule for free screening are the following:

August 17 Wednesday – 7PM “The Little House”
August 18 Thursday – 7PM “Pale Moon”
August 19 Friday – 7PM “August in Tokyo”
August 20 Saturday – 4PM “The Boy and the Beast” and 7PM “Kakekomi”
August 18 Sunday – 4PM “Flying Colors” and 7PM “Our Little Sister”

The Philippines-Japan Friendship Month is held during the month of July to commemorate the designation of July 23 as Philippines-Japan Friendship Day but related activities are extended until the month of August.
