‘Nepartak’ Intensifies, to Enter PAR Tuesday Afternoon — PAGASA
State weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said “Nepartak” has intensified into a typhoon, and is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Tuesday afternoon.
Once it enters PAR, it will be named “Butchoy”.
The center of “Nepartak” was eyed outside PAR, at 1,570 km east of Baler, Aurora.
PAGASA said it has the maximum winds of 120 kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 150 kph.
It is expected to move northwest at 30 kph.
Meanwhile, “Nepartak” is the first of three tropical cyclones that PAGASA expects to enter PAR this month. (PNA) BNB/MCCA
