Rainy Weather Seen on Thursday Due to ITCZ
The intertropical convergence cone (ITCZ) continues to be the the dominant weather system affecting the country that will bring rains on Thursday, the day of the inauguration of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President-elect Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the ITCZ, which is the thick clouds coming from the south of Asia, is considered a breeding ground for low-pressure areas (LPAs) or potential cyclones affecting Southern Luzon and Visayas.
For Thursday forecast, cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Caraga and Zamboanga Peninsula.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Light to moderate winds blowing from the southwest to southeast will prevail over Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao and from the east to Southeast over the rest of Luzon.
The coastal waters over the whole archipelago will be slight to moderate.
The state weather bureau has not issued gale warning as the fisherfolks are safe to venture into the seas. (PNA) LDV/CLTC
