Trump Fundraising Lagging Behind

Published

on

Donald Trump’s fundraising campaign for USA’s 2016 elections is not as high as expected in this critical period, says reporters.

A Republican fundraising bundler relayed that they are dismayed by the lack of money flooding in. Donors are unfortunately not receiving as much invitations to go to upcoming finance events of Trump.

There appears to be tension between the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee. The reason is believed to be that both sides mistrust each other despite agreeing on a joint fundraising before.

There are reported to be some donors who have denounced support to Trump. A campaign source privately said it is hard to fund Trump considering that some donors think that he can fund himself as he is a self-proclaimed billionaire.

Trump claims to have a net worth of over 10 billion dollars. He initially funded his primary campaign himself, lending 44 million dollars through the end of April.

His own financial disclosure shows he does not have enough to pay for the much expensive general election campaign if he formally becomes the nominee in July. Trump says that he may have to sell some of his assets for the general campaign. He adds that he does not think he would need the 1 billion dollars that Hillary Clinton and Democratic Party are almost certain to raise.

“I just don’t think I need nearly as much money as other people need because I get so much publicity. I get so many invitations to be on television. I get so many interviews, if I want them,” Trump said.

Nick Leob, on the other hand sad he was not aware of any financial problems. He gives an example of raising 200,000 dollars for New Jersey Governor Chis Christie’s presidential campain during the Republican primary. He anticipats that he wont be having any difficulty once he has the time to concentrate on the task.
