Metro Manila – The camp of Senator Bongbong Marcos will file an election protest on the grounds of “massive rigging and manipulation of votes” in the May 9 election polls.

Jose Amor Amorado, head of Marcos; legal team and Abakada Party-list Rep Jonathan Dela Cruz, Marcos’ political adviser said they intend to file on June 28, they stated on Tuesday.

Amorado and Dela Cruz said that based on their findings, election results were transmitted to a “secret fourth server” instead of directly to the Municipal Board of Canvassers, the Comelec and the transparency server.

They added that this additional server was not disclosed to the public and no watchers were allowed to monitor this fourth server.

“The truth has to come out one way or another,” said Amorado.

The protest from the Marcos camp would seek to have a recount of votes in some areas that indicated fraud.

They added that many of the precincts that the senator lost is were considered bailiwicks of Marcos. Among those included are Leyte, Samar, Pangasinan, and other areas in Region 2.

Dela Cruz mentioned that those who voted for Marcos and the rest of the Filipino people deserved to find out what happened in the elections.

Comelec has cleared out several times that the script change mentioned by the Marcos camp are just cosmetic and did not affect the election results.

Respondents faced possible imprisonment of 6 to 12 years if found guilty, Amorado said.
