Rains are still expected in Luzon on Friday due to the presence of southwest monsoon or hangin habagat, the dominant weather system affecting the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

For Friday forecast, the southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will prevail over the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley and over the provinces of Zambales and Bataan while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rainshowers or thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over northern and western section of Luzon and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Winds will be light to moderate coming from the south to southwest with slight to moderate seas.

The state weather bureau has not issued gale warning as the fisherfolks are safe to venture into the seas. (PNA) JMC/CLTC
