Comelec Proclaims Congressional Winners In 5 Of 7 Cebu Districts

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) 7 proclaimed on Tuesday afternoon the winners in the congressional races in five of the seven districts in Cebu province.

The proclamation was held at the Cebu Provincial Capitol.The Board of Election Canvassers (BEC) proclaimed reelected Reps. Samsam Gullas (Cebu, first district), Gwendolyn Garcia (Cebu, third district) and Benhur Salimbangon (Cebu, fourth district) as winners in their respective districts.

The BEC also held partial proclamation of Rep. Wilfredo Caminero (Cebu, second district), and Rep.-elect John Calderon (Cebu, seventh district) as some areas in their districts have not yet transmitted the election results.

Earlier, the Comelec also proclaimed Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes as the representative-elect of Cebu’s sixth district. (PNA) SCS/EB/EDS
