Duterte Camp Welcomes INC Endorsement

The camp of PDP-LABAN standard bearer Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday expressed gratitude to the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) for endorsing their presidential candidate.

“We welcome the endorsement of the Iglesia ni Cristo. This is a big boost to our campaign,” Duterte’s spokesperson Peter Lavina said.

He added the INC endorsement shows that Duterte’s advocacy for ‘Tunay Na Pagbabago’ (true change) has resonated to almost all Filipinos and church formations affected by the rising crimes and drugs, continuing corruption and poverty.

“These issues are close to the hearts of our moral leaders and the various churches have their own campaigns to end this malady,” Lavina pointed out.

“Hence, we have received various expressions of support from many religious groups and religious leaders not just from the INC. But fully aware of its church discipline in voting, this INC endorsement is truly significant,” he added.

With this development, Lavina said the entire Duterte camp is thanking the INC as well all other religious groups and religious leaders for their support to the PDP-LABAN standard bearer’s candidacy. (PNA) BNB/PFN
