2016 Disaster Preparedness Forum Set In Cebu On April 19
The 2016 Disaster Resilience Forum is set on April 19 at the Laguna Garden Café at “The Terraces” at the Ayala Center Cebu.
The forum will tackle the need to protect and empower Filipinos against calamities and build disaster-resilient communities.
Over the past two decades, the Philippines endured a total of 274 natural calamities, making it the fourth most disaster-prone country in the world, a press statement said.
These has affected millions of Filipinos and have exposed impoverished communities to deeper poverty, the statement said.
Officials from the Insurance Commission, Regional Disaster Coordinating Council and other relevant stakeholder agencies will attend the forum.
Officials from Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Solutions will also be present to discuss the micro insurance solutions available for the people of Cebu. (PNA) LAP/EB/PR/RSM
