Frontline Services Rage Cogon Pardo
Another barangay benefited from the free services of the Cebu City Government’s Frontline Cluster Services through the ‘City Hall at Your Doorstep’ program of Mayor Michael Rama.
For the sixth time around since the program started in the year 2010, the activity was successfully held in Barangay Cogon Pardo extending helping hands to its residents today April 1, 2016 Friday.
Thousands of Pardohanons flocked to the vacant lot within Kintanar Compound in Sitio Santo Niño to avail of the free services. One of them was Arestareo Requiso, 57, who availed of the anti-pneumonia vaccination and also Medical Consultation.
In an interview with the BARUGG News, Requiso stressed that the activity is of great help the people especially the less fortunate. He said, “Maayo ni ang programa ni Mayor Rama kay daghan ang natabangan labi na ang mga walay kwarta pag-adto pa sa hospital (This is a great program of Mayor Rama because it helps many people especially those who have no money to go to a hospital).”
For Lola Erlinda Andrade, 62, who also availed of the Medical Consultation, she underscored that the activity must be continued to reach out to the Cebuanos in the 80 barangays of this city.
Meanwhile, among the services rendered were medical and dental consultations with free medicines, random blood sugar testing, blood typing, feeding for children, Cedula issuance and anti-rabies vaccination for dogs and cats.
Other services offered were the repair and installation of street lights and artesian wells, consultation on traffic issues and concerns, consultations on the ‘Let there be Light Program’ and urban poor related issues, free hair cutting, job placement referral, pruning and trimming of trees, consultation on drug related issues, fire prevention orientation, and vaccinations for pneumonia prevention, among several others.
Mayor Rama aims to bring the services of the 22 departments comprising the city government closer to the people and avail it for free sans going to the Cebu City Hall. The program has become institutionalized.
During today’s activity incumbent City Councilor Nendell Hanz Abella and former City Councilor Jocelyn Pesquera together with some Councilmen of Barangay Cogon Pardo showed their support for the huge success of the activity.
Moreover, amidst the scorching heat of the sun, thousands availed of the services. The activity which observed an avail-all-services-you-can system on a first come first served basis went well and ended until everyone were served. (Cebu City Public Information Office PIO/Greggy Jiggs P. Senados)
