Miss Bulgaria 2015 Wants To Visit The Philippines
Miss Bulgaria 2015 Radostina “Joy” Todorova on Saturday took to social media her interest to visit the Philippines one day, sharing a photo of one of the country’s beaches.
“Soon… I promise to myself! ❤❤❤ #yPhilippines,” said Todorova’s Facebook post, which received more than 1,200 likes an hour after it was posted.
Filipino fans have expressed their eagerness to welcome Todorova the time she decides to visit the country.
“That is in El Nido Palawan, Radost. Go there!,” said netizen Angelica De Joya in a comment noting that the beach in the photo Todorova shared was shot in Palawan. “You’re very much welcome to the Philippines.”
“I volunteer as one of your tourist guides and guess what, it’s free,” another netizen, Annabel Fernandez said in another comment.
Netizen Ligaya Boron, in her comment, urged Todorova to visit Oslob, Cebu City, Palawan, Boracay and Samal Island.
”(These are) some of our breathtaking beaches in our country. It’s really More Fun in the Philippines,” Boron said.
Todorova first gained popularity of Filipino fans when she was photographed cheering Miss Philippines 2015 Pia Wurtzbach to claim her crown after host Steve Harvey corrected his earlier announcement of Miss Columbia 2015 Ariadna Guirierrez as Miss Universe 2015.
Todorova has since then, been dubbed as “pambansang bestie” (national best friend) by Wurtzbach’s fans.
A Filipino netizen named Ron Cruz also created a meme from the photo, showing Wurtzbach looking unsure while Todorova gesturing for her to finally claim the Miss Universe crown.
“Even if we already know what to do, we always look for that one friend who will push us to do it. We all need a #MissBulgaria in our lives,” the meme read.
A surprised Todorova earlier thanked the Filipinos for their kindness and support they showed her after seeing the meme.
Todorova, known for interacting with fans via social media, has also quoted Wurtzbach’s popular “Confidently beautiful with a heart” quote on Instagram.
The Department of Tourism (DOT), meanwhile, said it would “be more than glad” to welcome Miss Bulgaria 2015 and show her why It’s More Fun in the Philippines.
“Tourism is a good bridge between cultures and people. Miss Pia Wurtzbach is the best and most visible advertisement for the warmth and friendliness that Filipinos are known for,” said DOT Media and Communications Service Director Jasmin Esguerra. (PNA) LGI/ANP
