Fair Weather Seen In Most Parts Of Philippines Except Extreme N. Luzon
Except in extreme Northern Luzon fair weather is expected in most parts of the country on Friday, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In its advisory, PAGASA said northeast monsoon or “hangin amihan” continues to affect extreme Northern Luzon while easterlies or warm winds from the east prevail over the eastern section of the country.
For Friday forecast, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains is expected over Batanes, Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
The state-run weather bureau issued a gale warning due to strong to gale force winds associated with the northeast monsoon as the sea condition would be rough to very rough in the northern seaboards of Northern Luzon.
“Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are alerted against rough to very rough seas,” it warned.
It added moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Northern Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas. (PNA) JBP/CLTC
