AVRC II-Trained PWDs Demonstrate Their Skills
Twenty nine (29) persons with disabilities (PWDs) from the Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center II (AVRC) had the chance to demonstrate their skills in Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC-Cebu) in Brgy. Labangon, Cebu City.
DBTC-Cebu had invited the AVRC II-trained PWDs during in its two occasions namely: Family Day celebration last February 14 and Teacher’s Day celebration last February 23.
The PWDs showcased their skills in massage therapy, cosmetology, sewing and cooking.
After the two events, the PWDs earned a total of Php 30,470.00.
“We are grateful for the chance that Don Bosco had given to our trained PWDs,” said Regional Director Ma. Evelyn Macapobre.
“This kind of exposures are good venue in showcasing their skills and eventually will boost their self-esteem as they will interact to different people,” added Director Macapobre.
As a non-residential institution under the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office (DSWD), AVRC II provides various courses ranging from Massage Therapy, Electronic Motor Repair, Computer Electronics, Basic Sewing, Furniture and Cabinet Making, Commercial Cooking and Cosmetology.
