Talisay, Lapu-Lapu Cities OK Bonuses For Execs, Workers

The city councils of Talisay and Lapu-Lapu have approved the release of Christmas bonuses for their respective officials and employees.

The Talisay City Council approved a Christmas bonus of PHP30,000 for each of the city’s elected officials and regular employees.

The PHP11-million budget for the bonuses was included in the PHP23-million fifth supplemental budget the Talisay City Council has passed.

On the other hand, the Lapu-Lapu City Council approved a Christmas bonus of PHP15,000 for each of the city’s officials and regular workers.

Earlier, the Provincial Board approved a PHP15,000 Christmas bonus for Cebu Capitol officials and employees.

The Cebu City government has already distributed a Christmas bonus of PHP30,000 for each of the city’s 5,000 officials and regular employees.

The Mandaue City Council has also approved a PHP10,000 cash incentive for all its officials and employees.

However, it remains uncertain if job order workers in these local government units will get any bonuses after the Commission on Audit ruled that such employees are not entitled to bonuses. (PNA) LAP/BNB/EB/EDS
