Boracay Island, Aklan (PNA) -– Members of the Philippine Association for Licensed Massage Therapist (PALMT) Boracay Chapter received their respective certificates for the successful bid for the World’s Longest Massage Chain.

The Longest Massage Chain activity in Boracay, participated by 1,600 massage therapists, was held on May 16, 2014, but was officially recognized only this year by the Guinness Book of World Records after validation processes.

Boracay defeated the record previously held by Thailand with only 1,223 participants.

Meanwhile, the distribution of certificates held on Dec. 13 was led by the Department of Health Central Office, PALMT National Chapter and the Local Government of Malay.

The bid for Guinness was also co-organized by the Municipal Tourism Office of Malay.

Aside from the distribution of certificates, an exhibit with the theme, “Streamlining PALMT Boracay-Aklan into Health and Wellness and Sustainability of Tourism Industry” was also conducted at Balabag Plaza here. (PNA) JMC/AJP/KVBERMEJO/LPT
