Your Guide To Buying Foundation
A foundation is well, your base of your over-all makeup look! It should make you comfortable and should never look like you’re wearing makeup. Consider the following before you purchase: What is your skin type: is your skin dry or oily?
Do you need it on a daily basis or during events that last all night? Do you need more coverage? Or just to even-out your skin? There are literally thousands of brands out there and you are sure to find one that’s perfect for you.
The best place to go is at the SM and Ayala department stores or at drugstores like Watson’s. Here’s a quick guide before you go on the quest for the perfect foundation!
1. Take your usual foundation or base product with you. If it’s your first time, ask the assistance of the makeup consultant in charge of the store or counter.
2. Don’t wear any face product while shopping. Sure you can wear mascara or your lipstick but keep your face bare.
3. Take time to test different brands, ask the makeup consultant or artist in charge for questions or better yet, he or she might give you a mini make-over! If you’re by yourself, always test on your jawline because that way, you will see how the foundation will match your neck and your face.
4. Step outside to see how it looks on you in natural light. It should look like your shade but if not, wipe it off and move on to test other variants and brands.
Remember, never test a product on the back of your hand because the skin of your hands is either lighter or darker than that on your face.
