VECO Announces Power Restored to 2.3K out of 474K Affected Customers
Visayan Electric Co. (VECO) announced that it has successfully energized 2,383 out of 474,182 affected customers within its franchise area.
This comes as VECO announced that they have restored 64 out of 544 line segments, equating to 11.76 percent.
Moreover, the power company has also said restoration is taking longer due to damage to infrastructure such as toppled poles, drowned wires, and damaged transformers.
Meanwhile, 15 linemen from VECO sister companies Cotabato Light and Power Company and Subic EnerZone Corporation, along with 33 linemen from Cagayan Electric Power & Light Co., Inc.,and Meralco, arrived in Cebu City to aid in restoration efforts in VECO’s franchise area.
VECO with the augmented linemen from other power companies are currently doing clearing operations on power lines and power restoration. (GFB)
