Ukraine Forces Triumphs in Kyiv, Russian Invaders Now on Retreat

As we say in sports, “it is a great upset,” just like what is happening today with the smaller country Ukraine against the greater military might of Russia — a true to life David and Goliath Story.

According to reports, Russian troops are retreating in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, and are now hunted down by Ukraine forces.

The White House said that the United States has evidence Russia suffered a strategical “a strategic disaster” during their invasion attempt of Ukraine’s capital.

Although Russian troops are retreating from Kyiv, long-range attacks still continue. This retreat would indicate Russia’s failure to take the capital city.

Meanwhile, Russia’s forces shift their attacks to other areas such as the Donbas region, sending more military to take the area.

Donbas might get hit by Russia’s maritime fleet and amphibian assaults. However, Ukraine is prepared to make it a hard battle for the invaders.

Moreover, United Kingdom’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to stand their ground in this fight with Russia.

Johnson also warned Ukraine not to accept peace deals with Russia as Germany and France might convince them to agree to a peace deal.

Johnson added that Ukraine would be at a disadvantage if they stand down now.

If a peace deal is pushed through, Putin could avoid persecution as a war criminal and face weaker sanctions.

Moreover, Zelensky said that they will continue to stand their ground against the Russian invasion. A peace deal will only be initiated until the Ukrainian forces gain the upper hand in the war.

While Ukraine is only half the size of the Philippines’ economy, this small country fought hard against a superpower like Russia. (ASC)
