Moscow (PNA/Sputnik) — A tropical storm dubbed Colin has formed in the Gulf of Mexico and is anticipated to make a landfall in Florida and Georgia by Monday afternoon, the US National Hurricane Center (NHC) said Sunday.
The storm was upgraded from a tropical depression, meaning it can sustain maximum winds of 40 miles per hour, the Miami-based center said.
It formed in the Gulf of Mexico north of the Yucatan Peninsula and is moving northeast. A tropical storm warning was issued for the coast of Georgia and northeast Florida, from Altamaha Sound to the Flagler/Volusia County Line. (PNA/Sputnik) JMC/SSC
