The True Meaning of Gentleness

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23

“Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight,” 1 Peter 3:4

Gentleness does not mean that you are a doormat, letting others walk over you. God is the perfect example of gentleness, and yet He is also a mighty warrior, able to defeat the powers of hell. In God’s eyes, gentle people are the most powerful and influential in the world because they make an impact without a corresponding conflict or war. Gentleness may be the most powerful weapon in your arsenal. You accomplish more by gentleness than by coercion.

“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” Matthew 5:5
