The Great Egg-Venture
Singapore – Come 14 March to 5 April 2015, the Sentosa HarbourFront precinct will put on Singapore’s largest Easter Fiesta celebrations. Organised by the Sentosa HarbourFront Business Association, the activities and promotions span across more than 20 different establishments in the precinct, from special Easter menus to a new exclusive Easter show at Universal Studios Singapore.
The Giant Egg Hunt
Singapore’s biggest egg hunt – The Giant Egg Hunt, will take participants on a journey up Mount Faber, across the Sentosa harbour and onto the island resort in search for 100 giant eggs. Measuring 1.8 metres by 1 metre, the giant eggs have been hand painted by more than 300 members of the community through an egg design competition. Hunt through the nooks and crannies of the Sentosa HarbourFront precinct for all 100 giant eggs and participants will stand a chance to win attractive prizes. The egg hunt was entered into the Singapore Book of Records last year for the largest egg hunt ever conducted in Singapore.

Charity Auction
Organiser Sentosa HarbourFront Business Association will also be auctioning 50 smaller eggs that have been designed by renowned personalities around the region for charity. The select charity, Very Special Arts Singapore, provide individual with disabilities opportunities to access the arts for rehabilitation and social integration. Famous personalities partaking in this charity initiative include singer Nathan Hartono, chef Emmanuel Stroobant and actor Cheung Chilam.
From the Philippines, Melissa Yeung, a self-taught artist, gets her inspiration from Asian indigenous culture and its environment. Melissa dedicates her life working with marginalized indigenous communities and has worked with tribes, farmers, and fishermen. Her paintings offer a modern glimpse of the past, inviting audiences to look back with gratitude towards indigenous heritage while moving forward into modern times. Together with John Tan, a teacher at the University of Philippines who sculpts clay portraits and builds robots from scratch, they have joined their creative minds to decorate an egg for charity.
Familiar with the spotlight, Cheung Chilam of Hong Kong has cut albums and walked numerous red carpets. Taking time out of from his busy schedule, Chilam has embraced his creative side together with his son, Morton, to decorate an egg.
“I’m used to painting on flat canvas and this is the first time I’m painting an egg. It was a little challenging, but I’m very happy with how it turned out. The egg is inspired by my character Captain Cool in my new movie and I’m very honoured to be part of this charity event. I hope to continue taking part in more charity events across different countries” adds Cheung Chilam who also cites Sentosa and Universal Studios Singapore as one of his favourite places in Singapore.
Activities Across Sentosa HarbourFront
With a delectable Easter feast and kid’s activity corner at Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa Resort and Spa, young and old can get involved in Easter activities. Head over to Movenpick Heritage Hotel Sentosa, where a gigantic candy house will be on display as well as a wide array of desserts, delighting guests with a sweet tooth. In addition, be transported back to childhood with bouncy castles and colourful Easter egg hunts. Join Mr Balloon Artist as he sculpts imaginary friends at W Singapore – Sentosa Cove. Or be a part of the Easter Egg Painting and dress up Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa’ s herb garden with self-painted eggs. Don’t forget to create a bunny mask Easter Hat and join the Easter Hat Parade and egg hunt at ONE°15 Marina Club.

Resorts World Sentosa joins in the Easter egg-venture with a myriad of activities at the Universal Studios Singapore and S.E.A. Aquarium. At Universal Studios Singapore, there will be a new show and the park will be all out decked in Easter décor. Joining friends of Sesame Street in Easter outfits this year, will be Puss In Boots and Kitty Softpaws as well. Over at S.E.A. Aquarium, the popular Diving Easter Bunny makes a return.
More than 20 dining outlets will offer new Easter menu and promotions, from indulging in the 6 oz Easter Burger at Hard Rock Café Sentosa to Easter brunches at Mansion Restorante, you will definitely be spoilt for choice.
