South Cebu Bus Terminal Prepares For Influx Of Passengers During Holy Week
Officials of the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) on N. Bacalso Ave., Cebu City are preparing for the influx of passengers and tourists during the Holy Week.
CSBT operations manager Ramon Dumayac said they will tap some personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP) to augment the terminal’s security.
He said the Cebu Provincial Health Office (PHO) and the Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) will provide teams for emergency situations.
CSBT assistant manager Eddie Dusaban said the police visibility in the terminal during the Holy Week will discourage criminal elements from operating in the area.
The walk-through metal detector and the closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras are also a big help to ensure public safety at the terminal.
Dusaban said they will be renting additional tents and portable toilets for the convenience of the public during the Holy Week.
Some non-government organizations like the Red Cross also pledged to put up a team in the terminal this week.
But the installation of air conditioners at the terminal might have to be moved back some more because the procurement process has hit a snag.
Two newly delivered wall air conditioners will be installed in the canteen for the comfort of passengers. (PNA)
