Russia appears to have moved heavy military equipment close to the country’s border with Finland.

This latest development in the European conflict comes as open-source intelligence monitor OSINTdefender tweets a video that shows Russian forces moving heavy military equipment which includes what appears to be a K-300P Bastion Coastal Defense Missile System towards the Gulf of Finland and the Finnish Border.

The ending of the video also shows a road signage that shows the direction of the Finnish capital of Helsinki.

The video was shared on social media just hours after Moscow warned Finland and Sweden against joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

Longtime nonaligned countries of Sweden and Finland inching towards joining NATO have been reported throughout, as polls show 65 percent of Finns are in favor of joining the military alliance, while only 16% are opposed.

Leading researcher at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs Charly Salonius-Pasternak told the Financial Times that the Finnish population has already decided on a radical change.

“All of a sudden, it seems the Finnish population has decided: there is only one option. It’s a radical change, a huge shift in momentum,” Salonius-Pasternak said.

Meanwhile, Sweden’s ruling party has begun mulling to join the 30-nation military alliance as Swedish prime minister Magdalena Andersson said that the party could decide to apply even without the official backing of members.

Moscow did not take the reports lightly, arguing the move would not bring stability to Europe.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also told reporters that “the alliance remains a tool geared towards confrontation,” talking about NATO. (GFB)
