RAFI’s KAC Offers Training Scholarship for Public HS Students
To empower the youth to be proactive citizens, the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) Kool Adventure Camp (KAC) offers a training scholarship to public high school students with an investment of P600 only.
Only public high schools can avail the three-day training scholarship. The training is subject to the following terms and conditions, namely, the student-applicant is either second or third year high school and the applicants go through a selection process conducted by RAFI KAC.
The school must also send at least 45 students who qualified the selection process. After the course of the training, the students must commit to doing a school community project and the school commits to support the project of the students.
RAFI KAC’s current programs are character and leadership adventure camps, land expedition programs, sea expedition programs, urban heritage backpacking, and eco-adventure service learning program.
“The training course will focus on character building, developing competence, and inspiring active citizenship,” Marie Sol Gonzalvo, deputy director for Youth Development Programs of RAFI KAC, said.
KAC has already trained more than 3,700 public high school students from all over Cebu.
KAC is one of the programs under the Leadership & Citizenship focus area of RAFI, where future leaders are nurtured to prepare them to take an active role in affecting change. RAFI’s other focus areas are Integrated Development, Micro-finance & Entrepreneurship, Culture & Heritage, and Education.
