PRO 7 Chief Says Gullases Not in Any Narco-List

Chief Superintendent Noli Talino, Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 director, on Wednesday said he has not seen the names of the Gullases in any of the narco-list that President Rodrigo Duterte has named or provided them.

Talino made the statement during the visit to his office Wednesday of Talisay City Mayor Eduardo Gullas and his grandson, Rep. Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas (Cebu, first district).

Mayor Gullas said he fears his political enemies will drag his name into the illegal drug trade after Superintendent Aileen Recla was relieved from her post as Talisay City police chief.

He said the Gullases are never involved in any illegal activities.

Gullas said he went to the PRO 7 to express his continued support in the fight against illegal drugs.

Gullas also promised to give the same support to the new Talisay City police chief, Superintendent Emerson Dante, who replaced Recla.

Recla was relieved by Camp Crame on October 28.

Gullas earlier criticized the police for not allowing him to choose his chief of police, saying it is “against the law.”

Gullas said he didn’t think Camp Crame will give him a chance to pick a police chief of his own.

But he said he was ready to receive Dante, Recla’s replacement. (PNA) LAP/EB/EDS
