Police Charge Cop Killer
The Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) has charged with murder the killer of PO1 Mae Sasing.
In an interview with the radio, MCPO director Senior Supt. Roberto Alanas said that although Felix Taytayan denied killing his ex-girlfriend, there were witnesses who reportedly saw him with the victim a day before the murder took place.
He, however, said Taytayan’s accomplice, the motorcycle driver, was still at large as of this posting. The accomplice is also facing a murder charge.
Taytayan was arrested last November 3 in Bantayan Island, where he reportedly sought refuge after the killing.
Although Taytayan denied the allegations, police said they have witnesses who could corroborate their theory. Alanas said Taytayan reportedly wanted Sasing back but the latter had refused.
Witnesses reportedly saw Taytayan and Sasing talking to one another. The lady cop was riding her motorcycle on her way home to Consolacion when she was shot by a gunman aboard a motorcycle in Barangay Basak, Mandaue City last October 31.
There were also footages from closed-circuit television cameras which showed that Taytayan and his accomplice followed the victim from her station in Lapu-Lapu City to Barangay Basak.
