PH Sets Another Single-Day Covid Case Record at 22K

The Philippines has reported 22,366 new COVID-19 cases last August 30, beating the record of 19,441 new COVID-19 cases set only last Saturday, August 28.

The Department of Health has expected the continued rise of COVID-19 as the infection rate is still.

As of August 31, 2021, the country logged 13,827 new cases increasing the total number of active COVID-19 cases to 145,562, with 97.3% are either mild or asymptomatic. The country also logged 16,759 new recoveries (1,810,847 in total) and 118 new deaths (33,448 total deaths).

Moreover, 95% of the active COVID-19 cases are mild — 1.4% are asymptomatic, 0.99% are moderate, 1.1% are severe, and 0.6% are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, as of August 31, the country’s hospital occupation rate is still at 73% in ICUs, 65% in Isolation Beds, 71% in Wards Beds, 54% in Ventilators. (ASC)
