PDEA Celebrates IDADAIT
The National Office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) celebrates the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT) today.
IDADAIT was formed by the United Nations (UN) and it started on 1989 and celebrated every 26th of June annually.
The main goal of IDADAIT is to stop substance abuse and to also eradicate drug production.
Meanwhile, PDEA Region 7 spokesperson Leia Alcantara pointed out that basing on their assessment, they conducted various operations and activities against illegal drugs.
Alcantara also said that the PDEA-7 is on full support during IDADAIT.
PDEA-7 will deploy different teams to all provincial offices to conduct lectures about the negative effects of illegal drugs and to observe IDADAIT.
Agendas of the said lectures are supply and harm reduction.
Harm reduction activities are also observed by the PDEA by conducting consistent surprise drug tests on government offices, traffic enforcement agencies and Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) drivers.
PDEA is one of the backbone and front-liner of President Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign on illegal drugs. (MLC)
