OpenAI Launches Custom GPT Marketplace Called ‘GPT Store’
OpenAI has recently introduced the GPT Store, a marketplace for custom bots, which OpenAI calls GPTs, tailored for users of ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Enterprise, allowing people who made custom versions of the ever-popular ChatGPT for specific purposes to share their ChatGPT versions.
In two months since the advent of GPTs, users have crafted an impressive 3 million custom versions of ChatGPT. The GPT Store is poised to elevate this experience by offering a curated selection of purpose-built GPTs, providing users with an extensive range of applications.
The GPT Store was initially slated for launch in November before OpenAI delayed it to December, with another delay being announced in January.
Moreover, the AI company also said in an announcement that it will launch a revenue-sharing program for creators of custom GPTs in the first quarter of 2024.
The marketplace allows users to navigate through a diverse array of GPTs, meticulously designed by both partners and the thriving community. This includes the popular DALL·E to practical applications in writing, research, programming, education, and lifestyle, the GPT Store caters to a spectrum of interests.
Beyond being a repository of GPTs, the store promises regular features of standout GPTs that bring unique value to users. The initial lineup includes personalized trail recommendations from AllTrails, academic paper synthesis with Consensus, coding skill enhancement with Khan Academy’s Code Tutor, design capabilities with Canva, book recommendations with Books, and flexible math and science tutoring through the CK-12 Flexi AI tutor.
Builders play a pivotal role in this dynamic marketplace, where creating and sharing GPTs is simplified, requiring no coding skills. The review system ensures quality and adherence to policies, allowing builders to contribute meaningfully while gaining visibility and potentially earning based on GPT usage. (GFB)
