Obama Defends US use of drones
President Barrack Obama has defended the use of drones in the US in the fight against deadly militants.
In a statement made at The National Defense University on Thursday, the President said the US prefers to personally capture these militants but there are times when this is not possible.
He said he continues to be haunted by the civilians unintentionally killed in these strikes.
When the US is faced by deadly threats in a country where the government holds little or no influence, the US results to the use of drones, which according to the President, is legal because America is at war with Al-Queda forces.
The President said the militant organization would kill as many people as they could if they failed to stop them first.
He also said he plans to discuss with Congress to determine how best to handle drone attacks.
On Wednesday, the US administration disclosed for the first time the death of the fourth American in counterterrorist drone strikes abroad.
