NTF: COVID-19 Still Present
Despite the decreasing number of COVID-19 cases in the country, the National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 reminds the public to stay vigilant as COVID-19 still exists.
NTF Against Covid-19 medical adviser Dr. Ted Herbosa emphasized that despite the decreasing trend of COVID-19 cases and the increasing vaccination rate in the country, people should still follow the minimum health protocols like wearing facemasks and practicing social distancing, especially in crowded areas.
“Huwag nating kakalimutan ibaon ang ating mga face mask, surgical mask at N-95 mask (Let’s not forget bringing with us our facemask, surgical mask, and N-19 mask),” Herbosa said.
He also noted that we should learn from what happened to other countries with high vaccination rates that scrapped the use of facemasks in public areas, which resulted in an increase of COVID-19 cases in their country.
From March 23 to March 29, the country has only logged 2,651 new cases — 378 average number of daily COVID-19 cases.
Meanwhile, the country’s cumulative case fatality rate is at 1.61 percent, while the recovery rate is at 97.3 percent. (ASC)
