NDRRMC: People Affected by Ruby Breaches 4M Mark, Damage at P5.09B
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said the number of people affected by Typhoon Ruby (Hagupit) breached the four-million mark as of Friday morning, GMA News Online reported.
In its 6 a.m. update, the council said Ruby had already affected 944,249 families or 4,149,484 people in Central and Southern Luzon; Western, Central and Eastern Visayas; Caraga; and Metro Manila.
It added that of these, 18,938 families or 100,264 people are being served inside and outside 327 evacuation centers.
The NDRRMC however, said the death toll from Ruby remained at 18, while the number of those injured stayed at 916.
Report added that the damage caused by Ruby was pegged at P5,090,265,426, including P1,435,804,523 in infrastructure and P3,654,460,903 in agriculture.
