Mynimo Job Fair Attracts Thousands of Happy Job Seekers
Online Jobs Site’s Debut Event Breaks Venue Records
Mynimo.com, the official jobs website of the Cebu Business Month (CBM) 2014 held the Happy Jobs Fair to highlight the happy jobs available in Cebu and abroad. The event was held at the SM City Cebu Trade Hall on May 31, Saturday, from 10am to 6pm.
Over 2,000 attendees were interviewed onsite, a figure which Salve Tagalog, manager of SM Cebu Trade Hall estimates “broke the record for job fair attendance” in SM Cebu. 59% of the attendees were walk-in applicants, while 41% were among the applicants that registered online prior to the event. They applied and interviewed for the 6,000+ urgent job vacancies from 67 local and overseas employers with vacancies catering to all job levels and various professions.
The Happy Jobs Fair was copresented by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) in line with the CBM 2014. “We are very excited that the Happy Jobs Fair is now part of the CBM’s calendar of activities,” said Wesley Chiongbian, Mynimo.com’s Founder & CEO. “Our partnership with CCCI helped to make the Happy Jobs Fair the biggest privately organized job fair in Cebu this year.”
The Happy Jobs Fair was unique as it applied Mynimo.com’s website functionality in a live, physical setting. Job seekers experienced an easier time in finding the right jobs with its categorized job board. Employers also benefitted by being able to screen applicants faster with Mynimo.com’s colorcoding scheme. “We are always looking for ways to innovate in everything we do. Job fairs can be stressful for both job seekers and employers, so we came up with these methods to make it a more pleasant and happy experience,” Chiongbian explained.
