On its 31st year, the Miss Cebu Pageant continues its reputation of bringing out the beauty, wit and charisma of a real Cebuana and uncovers it to the world. The lady that ensembles and reflects Cebu’s distinct character and rich history in her. Indeed, a Miss Cebu is the one who had captured Cebu in her heart.

Through the years, Miss Cebu has always carried the advocacy of promoting Cebu’s world class tourism and become a representative of Cebu in its local and international affairs. The pivotal role that a Miss Cebu carries in her is to convey to the world that Cebu is more than a City in the Philippines, rather, it is a paradise of its own.

This advocacy has sprouted from Miss Cebu’s founding in 1983 when a small group of Cebuanos went beyond by looking into other possibilities of boosting Cebu’s Tourism. This happened exactly at the time where the Asia Pacific region was at its early stages of enticing investors to its shores. Then, Cebu’s leaders were able to envision Cebu as an island blessed with resources that would nurture tourism and trade.

Miss Cebu did not paralyze itself to one goal alone. Later on, it has also become an instrument in establishing good international relations with Cebu and other countries like Japan, Australia, Korea and others. Being one of the highlights of the Sinulog festivities, Miss Cebu has also drawn local tourists and encouraged them to discover more about the Queen City of the South.

The country has been into too many changes in the past 31 years. Yet, Miss Cebu has always been consistent in its tradition, legacy, relevance, message and quality. More than just a showcase of the beautiful faces of the Cebuanas, it reveals that she is an epitome of beauty, brains and character. Aside from that, The Miss Cebu Pageant also reflects the creative hands of the people working behind it to deliver a production that is internationally acclaimed.

In its three decades in the industry, Miss Cebu has produced women who have also become the faces of the country and the world. Going through a series of screenings, background checking and workshops, a Miss Cebu finalist becomes equipped and reveals the best version of herself on the day of the competition.

The Miss Cebu is a woman of integrity and character. She carries herself gracefully and rightfully in different situations. She works for an advocacy and uses her reputation and capabilities in the achievement of these. She would always gear to make changes in the community that will make an impact in the lives of its people.
