Majority of Cebu LGUs to Join “Pasigarbo”
After Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia assumed office on June 30, 2019, she’s now on the brink of bringing the “Pasigarbo sa Sugbo” which was considered to be the “Festival of Festivals” to bring a major impact on the province’s tourism.
Yesterday, July 3, Garcia met with 51 town mayors along with their respective tourism officers to discuss the said activity.
Garcia presented her programs under her administration which is a clear thought that it can boost the tourism in Cebu.
Part of her plans for the tourism side is the return of “Suroy Suroy Sugbo”.
However, there are some LGUs that might not make it to the festival because of certain reasons.
The towns of Danao, Tudela, Tabuelan and Toledo showed interest in joining but they will still have to check their funds before committing.
The Provincial Government is planning to conduct the activity this coming August 4-10.
The 450th anniversary of Cebu Province will also be featured on the 6th of August.
Garcia explained that the Cebu Provincial Government will aide those towns who are lacking in funds.
Meanwhile, Victor Cuenco, the Province’s Pasigarbo Organizer will be in charge of choreography and whole production.
Despite the very short time allocated to prepare, Garcia still trusted the process and that this activity will be successful and extraordinary since everyone’s effort will be put together as one. (MLC)
