Lilas Binisaya Sets ‘Short Film Festival’ on Nov. 28-30
To showcase the best Cebuano short films, Lilas Binisaya, Inc. sets Lilas Binisaya (Visayan Movies) Film Festival on November 28 to 30 at the Cine Oriente in Colon street.
The festival was organized by Lilas Binisaya Inc., Hamblin Inc, in cooperation with National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Cebu Provincial Government.
The event will be held at the historic Cine Oriente, the former premier center of Cebuano films.
Festival director Victoria Beltran said they will feature 15 short films where the winner will be awarded with P10,000 and a one-year scholarship grant of $5,000 at the Film and Media Conservatory (FMAC) in Cebu.
She added the festival aims to promote and develop Cebuano film culture.
The festival will feature on its opening day the 1960s film ” Ang Manok ni San Pedro” which stars prominent radio icon and Provincial Board member Julian “Teban Escudero” Daan on November 28 at 6:30 pm.
