LG Launches the World’s First 55” Curved OLED TV
LG’s 55EA9800 Curved OLED TV features 55-inch screen with the entire screen surface being equidistant from the viewer’s eyes brings what LG calls an “IMAX-like” viewing experience of the home.
The TV is just 4.3 millimeters thin, weighs 17 kilograms and features LG’s WRGB and Color Refiner technologies, which would result in great color and vibrant, natural images.
LG says its researchers spent five years developing the optimum curvature so that the entire screen surface is equidistant from the viewer’s eyes.
LG’s Curved OLED TV features thin transparent film speakers in the crystal clear stand, providing high-quality sound without compromising the TV’s beautiful design.
LG has begun accepting pre-orders for the 55EA9800 in South Korea, with deliveries set to begin through LG’s more than 1,400 retail stores in May. The TV will be priced at 15 million Korean Won (about US$13,500).
The device’s availability and pricing in other markets will be announced “in the months ahead.”
