Jobs, Scholarships Up for Grabs in TESDA 12 Event in North Cotabato
Thousands of technical vocation scholarship slots and job vacancies are available to public during the Worl Café of Opportunities in North Cotabato on August 25.
Rafael Abrogar II, regional director of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority 12, urged the public, especially those who have completed techvoc courses and those interested in taking skills training and in need of employment or livelihood, to take advantage of the offering.
World Café of Opportunities will be held at the Provincial Gymnasium inside the Provincial Capitol Compund in Amas, Kidapawan City on Sunday.
Data from TESDA 12 indicated that 991 scholarship slots will be made available to interested individuals who may choose to enroll in any of the following courses: Agricultural Crops Production NC II, Automotive Servicing NC II, Barangay Health Services NC II, Beauty Care NC II, Bread and Pastry NC II, Computer Systems Servicing NC II, Cookery NC II, Dressmaking NC II.
Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II, Electronics Products Assembly and Servicing NC II, Food and Beverage Services NC II, Health Care Services NC II, Heavy Equipment Operation (Bulldozer) NC II, Heavy Equipment Operation (Hydraulic Excavator) NC II, Hilot (Wellness Massage) NC II.
Motorcycle/Small Engine Servicing NC II, Rubber Production NC II, Security Services NC II, Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC II, and Trainers Methodology Level 1.
Persons who are in need of employment may also apply for jobs in the event’s job fair.
According the Department of Labor and Employment 12 at least 60 local companies will offer about 1,200 jobs for local employment. Also about 20 recruitment agencies will open more than 900 jobs for overseas deployment.
Job seekers are advised to bring at least two sets of their comprehensive resume with job description, school credentials, and photocopies of their certificates of employment, trainings and seminars. Applicants should also bring with them original copies of their documents for verification.
Director Abrogar emphasized that TESDA does not only seek out clients to be trained but also assures that after completing their courses, graduates are provided with opportunities for employment and livelihood.
This year, TESDA 12 has been allotted P85.4 million for the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) and P15.1 million for its Private Education Student Financial Assistance (PESFA).
Apart from these, more than P300 million has been earmarked for its special programs, including P86 million for the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP), P173 million for the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA), P23 million for Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF), and P23 million for Tsuper Iskolar Program.
