Israel: More Than A Start-Up Nation But Also A Brain Nation
Israel is notably known as one of the global leaders in technology and innovation. But the country is also recognized as a vanguard when it comes to brain research. As Israeli President Shimon Peres expressed his vision… “Israel is not only as the Startup Nation, but also as the Brain Nation”.
Israel has a well-developed infrastructure and a unique culture of nurturing innovation which certainly makes the country a brain nation. It heavily capitalizes on technology and science as a primary vehicle for economic growth. In fact, Israel invests between 4% and 5% of its GDP on R&D every year, which happens to be the highest rate in the world.
An example of this strong initiative is Brainsway™- an Israeli company specializing in advanced technology solutions for the treatment of a variety of brain disorders. Its flagship technology, Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (DTMS) is a noninvasive treatment for depression, schizophrenia, and other neurological disorders. This distinctive technology targets magnetic field effecting deeper tissues in the brain cortex.
Brainsway™ DTMS has already been applied in thousands of cases globally including the United States and Europe.
The technology now makes way to the Philippines. Brainsway Philippines is holding the “Brainsway Lecture and Hands-On Demo: Dtms – The New Paradigm for Brain Disorder Treatment” on August 12 and 13, 2014 which will feature Mr. Shmuel Adler, Brainway’s Vice President for Business Development & Reimbursement.
Filipino Psychiatry and Neurology doctors are encouraged to attend the conference in order to take a glimpse on how Israel is well-positioned to assume a leadership role in the emerging neurotechnology industry.
