Grand Bloodletting 2015 Collected More than 300 Blood Bags

Over 400 donors freely gave blood during the 4th Grand Bloodletting activity organized by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Cebu City Sports Center and the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue Campus last July 25, 2015 which gathered over 300 bags of blood.

Majority of the blood donors were from UCLM’s ROTC cadets together with the personnel from the Cebu City Police Office, PNP Police Regional Office 7, Armed Forces of the Philippines Central Command, 2nd Air Division Philippine Air Force and Naval Forces Central.

Cebu business community and Civil Society Organizations such as Ayala Business Club of Cebu, Inc. (ABCCI), Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), International Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (IPI), People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) Cebu, Rotary International District 3860, Rotary Club of Cebu Fuente, Rotary Club of Cebu Port Center and Rotaract Club of Cebu Fuente Community Based likewise extended support as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility Program by having their employees and members as volunteer blood donors.

Moreover, the valuable contribution of Alcordo Advertising; Ad Essence Services; Anilson Packaging Solutions, Inc.; Casino Alcohol Femme; Cebu Common Treatment Facility, Inc.; Cebu Holdings, Inc.; DFC Distributor; Efficascent Oil; Gardenia Bakeries Philippines, Inc.; Graphicstar Imaging Corporation; Global Business Power Corporation; Jollibee Foods Corporation; Krispy Kreme; Lourdes Catering; Lecit-E; Mama’s Love Cotton; Mabuhay Filcement; MCRI Global Corporation; National Grid Corporation of the Philippines; Nature’s Spring; Profood International Corporation; Philpacific Insurance Brokers and Managers, Inc.; RC Goldline; San Miguel Brewery, Inc.; Sun Life Financial; Stitches and Wear Industries; Uniform Solutions; Virginia Food, Inc.; Visayan Electric Company and University of San Carlos have been instrumental to achieving the objectives of this year’s bloodletting.

This life saving activity was likewise supported by the Association of Barangay Councils, Cebu City Sports Center, University of Cebu, UCLM College of Nursing, University of Southern Philippines Foundation College of Nursing, Cebu Academe Network, IPI Foundation, Outdoor Advertising Association of the Philippines, RMN DYHP Cebu and 888 News Forum.

Grand Bloodletting 2015 is a collaborative effort of CCCI, the Department of Health Region VII Blood Center, Philippine Red Cross Eastern Visayas Regional Blood Center and convening partners. The event with the theme “Thank you for Saving My Life,” was conducted in accordance to the National Blood Donor’s Month celebration.
