Google Unveiled Nexus 5 With Android 4.4 KitKat
Google officially announced its Nexus 5 with the latest Android OS – Android 4.4 KitKat last week, October 31.
The latest LG-made Google phone sports a 4.95-in, 1920×1080 full HD IPS Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display with 445ppi, making it significantly higher in resolution than the iPhone 5s and Amazon Kindle Fire HDX tablet. It has an impressive quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor along with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.
It also includes a 1.3MP front camera and 8MP rear shooter with optical image stabilization. The battery capacity is 2300mAh which can standby for 300 hours, 8.5 hours of Internet time on Wi-Fi. It comes with built-in wireless charging support.
The Google Nexus 5 will run on the latest operating system Android 4.4 KitKat. KitKat comes with some key design changes which make the OS seem less intrusive on the screen.
The device comes with the new version of Google Now which first appeared on the Motorola Moto X allowing you to ask your smartphone to perform tasks even when the phone is locked. Google Now will be able to set alarms, answer questions and perform actions all without a physical prompt as the smartphone’s mic will be able to recognize when it’s being spoken to intelligently recognizing that it’s you and not someone else.
“Android 4.4 is designed to run fast, smooth, and responsively on a much broader range of devices than ever before — including on millions of entry-level devices around the world that have as little as 512MB RAM,” Google said on its developer website.
Google said it will be available on the Nexus 4, 7, 10, Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One Google Play edition devices in the coming weeks.
The Nexus 5 is available for PHP 23,880 via KimStore and will be available at the following retailers: Amazon, EBay and BestBuy starting price at $349.
